I was away for a week, and now the Heath is sporting a lush green.

14 March 2013: Early Spring Blossom at the Viaduct Pond

This tree, next to the path at the southern edge of the Viaduct Pond, is slowly coming into blossom. I think it is a cherry plum (Prunus cerasifera) - the blackthorn shrubs (Prunus spinosa) are not yet flowering.

Less than a week ago, there seemed to be more autumn colour. The wind and rain in the last few days have brought most of the leaves down.
